Jeanie Marie Buss has been an American businesswoman for more than 20 years. Her current position is that of president of the Los Angeles Lakers, the owner of the National Basketball Association. Buss, a Californian native was raised with an impressive background. Jerry Buss, her father was a successful entrepreneur with a real estate business who later was the owner of Lakers Entertainment and Sports. After her parents divorced in 1972, she began to feel in a sense of being abandoned emotionally. When she was 19 she started working in the family business. Later she founded the Los Angeles Blades pro roller hockey team. She was president of the Great Western Forum, before becoming the Vice president for the Lakers. Her father died in 2013, and his control over control of the Lakers was transferred to Buss and her five siblings through a family trust that gave each sibling the same vote. she assumed the duties of the President for the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss has also been a owner of a portion of Women of Wrestling (a Los Angeles-based pro-wrestling group).
